3) Use a Mouth Guard

If you grind your teeth like myself, know that tooth grinding can fracture teeth and cause sensitivity, as well as literally grind the outder edges causing unevenness in your teeth.  Ask your dentist about using a professional mouth guard. They have cheaper ones you can buy at your local pharmacy, but beware you get what you pay for. I have a unique overbite, so I had to get mine professionally molded.  It cost more money for sure, but it was necessary. 

4) Limit Acidic Foods and Drinks

As already mentioned, be careful when eating or drinking acidic foods and drinks, such as carbonated drinks, citrus fruits, and wine — all of which can remove small amounts of tooth enamel over time. When you drink acidic liquids, use a straw to limit contact with your teeth. After eating or drinking an acidic substance, drink water to balance the acid levels in your mouth.
