My Experience with Bookkeeper Business Launch

Having actually gone through the BBL program myself, I can give a first hand experience of it. As well as what the online program looks like.

Here is my fancy certificate of completion!

Structure Of Course

The course is structured into phases, sort of organized by how you should approach things.

Go Phase (Days 1-15): This phase includes learning the foundational skills. The basics of accounting, what a debit and credit is, etc. Along with the financial statements, how to read them, how they flow through to each other, etc. It also discusses other things such as how to select a business name, domain, etc. Basically, if you don’t understand the basics of accounting, then bookkeeping is not for you.

Ignition Phase: Days 16-30: The section is really about training on how to do bookkeeping. The training uses Quickbooks Online. You will work in a made up company and go over all the main areas. These include invoicing, creating expenses, journal entries, etc.

Liftoff 31-45: This phase includes a project you work on, as well as how to read and explain financial statements. This will be helpful for when you will actually be doing this for your clients.

Ascent: Days 46-60: This phase shows what it takes to do book cleanups, along with how to network/get new clients. The final exams you will take to get the certificate of completion.

Acceleration Days 61-75: This phase includes how to get QBO certified. Also it provides templates, processes and checklists on things you need to do to setup a successful business.

Orbit Days 76-90: Overview of tools you need, how to market your business, how to find freelance gigs, etc.

Then there are 3 missions based on when you actually land your first client(s). These include advising on financial statements, how to follow up with clients, doing email outreach, how to get referrals, and focusing on the power of having a niche.

Cost of Bookkeeper Business Launch Course

When I did the program, I got it on a flash sale at $1,000 when it was normally $2,000. Now, the sign up has it at $2,400. And they offer a premier package which is $5,000 which says you become a member of the “Exclusive “Elite” Community of Bookkeeping Entrepreneurs.”

Is Bookkeeper Business Launch Worth It?

For me, no it was not worth it, but that is because I decided to not really take on bookkeeping. That doesn’t mean I won’t in the future, but it wasn’t something I wanted to do, mainly because the actual bookkeeping work bored me.

I do think the program is great and very comprehensive. However, $2,500 seemed really steep and I wasn’t sure is worth it. I know they have added a lot of content since I did the program, but honestly, I feel like anyone can go and learn Quickbooks and do bookkeeping work.

But, if you are someone who knows they really want to do bookkeeping as a side hustle but doesn’t know where to start, then I think this is a great program to do. I think where this course stands out is probably the training on how to get clients and network, along with the Facebook and social groups that you can interact with others, ask specific questions on how you would handle a certain situation, etc. Also they offer live and recorded calls that go over a variety of areas, including “Legal Lunches” where a legal expert can give insight into topics you may run into.

If you are interested, here is the link to sign up. They also have some free videos you can watch to give it a dry run to see if its something you might like. If you end up signing up for the program, drop me a note so I can share my thanks for reading.
